The pilgrimage

"In May I will be Embarking on a 500 mile (780km) journey. I Will be doing the famous sacred Pilgrimage from St. Jean Pied De Port In the South of France to Santiago De Compostela In Spain. This will be a sponsored walk for “The Rainbows Charity for Kids and Young people”. So I will be asking for sponsorship. All expenses etc. will be met by me. This is also a pilgrimage of peace for me, I always wanted to do this Journey from the first time I read The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho many years ago. Now I’m older, I have more of a desire to find peace inside, fight the demons on the way and deal with what ever extreme I may face on the road. I’m ready to write my own story and whilst doing this raise money to help give Kids and young people a brighter, better day in harsh desparate times. In preparation for this I will be looking to put on some evenings of music to raise the rainbows charity awareness and get sponsors ect. So, I am also looking for VENUES, MUSICIANS, BANDS, PROMOTERS, to help in my plight to put on a couple of music nights/events with a rainbow theme…..Oh and of course I will also be doing some Walking, so if anyone wants to join me, that’d be great too Mucho Thanks for joining my group , please spread the word and help me raise as much awareness for this charity as possible. It only takes a little to make a lot happen. Please lemme know if you can help with ANYTHING, obviously i'd love as much support as possible from you lovely people.

The pilgrimage

A bit about the history

The Camino de Santiago de Compostela, also known in English as The Way of St James, is a collection of old pilgrimage routes which cover all Europe. They all have Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain as their final destination. For more than 1000 years pilgrims have been walking along the Camino de Santiago.

The main... Camino route is the Camino Frances. This part of the Camino de Santiago traditionally starts in St Jean Pied de Port and finishes in Santiago de Compostela about 780km later, after traveling the breadth of Northern Spain, (In Santiago you can collect your Compostela).
