Biography:
Winner of Leicester's Best Acoustic Act in January 08, Barricades Rise are an acoustic duo hailing from Nuneaton, Warwickshire that formed in December 2007. They have been compared to the likes of Turin Brakes, Starsailor, Puressence and Elbow. Whatever their comparisons what really cuts through are the melodies that will haunt you far after each song ends. Jonathan’s voice rips through each track with a passion and power that is rarely heard with todays front men. Michael's guitar playing is the perfect match and with over ten years of playing together they compliment each other flawlessly. From forming they have gigged endlessly and last year released their debut EP 'Blueprints' to critical acclaim. This year has seen the duo push even harder, gigging more often, gaining more fans and recognition and putting the finishing touches to their debut album, due for release in the summer. What is most appealing though is their energetic, harmonious, sweat inducing live act which seems to be the missing link from most acoustic acts, these boys are truly a must see for any self respecting music fan. back
